Robert S. Woods plays Bo Buchanan, Llanview's Police Commissioner. Bo is Clint Buchanan's younger brother and second son of the powerful and downright ornery Texas entrepreneur, Asa Buchanan. Robert S.
Woods originated the role Beauregard "Bo" Buchanan in 1979, and except for a period in 1985 when he left to explore other acting roles, he has played the part of Bo continuously. He won the daytime Emmy Award in 1982 for Outstanding Lead Actor. He has been nominated four other times in 1986, 1993, 1994 and again in 1999.
He has been also been honored for his work as Bo with multiple award nominations from Soap Opera Update and Soap Opera Digest. In 1998, Robert Woods won his second MVP trophy from Soap Opera Update.
