'Here’s to Vivian!' Famous San Francisco twin sister who together paraded around in matching outfits dies, age 85

San Francisco residents are mourning the passing of a local celebrity: Vivian Brown, who along with her twin sister Marian turned heads strolling the city’s streets in matching high-end outfits, identical hairdos and cheerful smiles.

Never faltering in their flashy head-to-toe outfits for the last 40 years, the Brown twins became famous around the city as well as nationally, appearing in commercials, talk shows, and even movie cameos.

The 85-year-old twin, eldest by eight minutes, died in her sleep on Wednesday at an assisted care facility in the city, Barbara Farber, director of development for Jewish Family and Children's Services, told the San Francisco Chronicle.
